Medicare Supplement Plans C & F are Changing
As of January 1, 2020 Medicare Supplement plans with Part B deductible coverage, Plans C, F and high deductible F, cannot be sold to individuals who are “newly eligible” Medicare beneficiaries on or after January 1, 2020. This change is due to a federal law known as the Medicare Access and CHIP Re authorization Act (MACRA).
What happens to Plans C & F if I am on Medicare prior to January 1, 2020? If you are eligible for Medicare prior to January 1, 2020 you can keep your plan and you can continue to buy Plans C, F and High Deductible F after January 1, 2020. If you are enrolled into Plans C, F, High deductible current enrollees and newly eligible Medicare enrollees will be able to buy the new Plan High Deductible G on or after January 1, 2020.
