You keep your house clean and organized, right? You should also work to keep your digital life clean and organized! An easy way to make sure you don’t miss important messages (like from your Robert J Stillwell agent and customer support team!) is to make sure your voicemail inbox is clutter free and still taking messages. Did you know that if you have too many stored voicemails (in the inbox OR the deleted messages folder) you could be missing important voicemails? How to Set Up Voicemail on Android
Note: Steps may look slightly different depending on your phone model and Android version.
- Open the Phone app
Tap the three dots (More) in the corner, then select Settings > Voicemail.
- Begin setup
Choose Voicemail setup or a similar option. Enter your voicemail number if required.
- Create a password
Follow prompts to create a secure password or PIN.
- Record your greeting
Tap Record greeting, press Start or Record, then speak clearly. Save when satisfied.
- Access and manage messages
Return to the Voicemail section of the Phone app. Tap messages to play, delete or call back.
Bonus Pro Tip: You may also be able to access your voicemail by opening the Phone app, then pressing and holding the 1 key on the keypad to call your voicemail service.
How to Set Up Voicemail on iPhone
- Open the Phone app
Tap the green Phone icon, then select the Voicemail tab at the bottom right. (if yours isn’t there please see below for iOS 26* updates)
- Start setup
Tap Set Up Now (if this is your first time). Otherwise, tap Greeting at the top right.
- Create a voicemail password
Enter a secure password and tap Done, then confirm it. If you’ve previously set up voicemail, you won’t have to complete this step again.
- Choose your greeting
Select Default to use the standard iPhone voicemail message. Select Custom to record your own greeting. Tap Record, speak clearly, then tap Stop. Listen back and tap Save if you’re happy.
- Check messages anytime
In the Voicemail tab, tap on any message to play, delete, or save it.
Bonus Pro Tip: Some iPhones offer Live Voicemail, a feature that lets you automatically see a real-time transcription as someone is leaving you a message. To turn on Live Voicemail, go to Settings > Apps > Phone. Tap Live Voicemail and then turn it on.
