Health care providers want to ensure that their member’s health is a priority.  They want to ensure that you are getting the medical care that you deserve and need.  Below is a summary of what certain Medicare Advantage carriers are doing for you outside of COVID-19.

Aetna will waive out of pocket costs for in-network primary care services from May 13th – September 30th , 2020 for both in office and telehealth visits. Aetna encourages its members to continue seeking essential preventive and primary care during the pandemic.

United Healthcare will provide members with a $0 copay for primary care and specialist visits as well as other covered services (see below) from May 11th – September 30th, 2020. United Healthcare hopes that lowering the PCP and specialists copays that it will be easier for you to access care.

Here is a list of other covered services with a $0 copay:

  • Medicare covered chiropractic and acupuncture services
  • Podiatry services and routine eye and hearing exams
  • Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy
  • Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services
  • Outpatient mental health and substance abuse visits
  • Opioid treatment services

Please be aware that if you have been to the doctor and you paid a copay during this time, it will be the doctor’s office responsibility to refund you your copay.
