Benefits of Medicare Supplement Plans

Medicare Supplement Insurance plans have different benefits that are covered. Premiums vary among Insurance companies , but the benefits of each standard Medigap plan are always the same. You pay a monthly premium to insurance company in addition to your Medicare Part B premium. The cost of Medigap policy depends on the type of plan you buy, the insurance company, your location, your age and tobacco use.

For Ex. Plan G for a female age 70 zip code 18914 non-smoker with Aetna would be $143.86 per month. Plan G for the same client with Mutual of Omaha would be $200.86.

As you can see there is quite a difference in premium. Each company has different underwriting questions which is also another factor in deciding on a Medicare Supplement company based on your health and medications you may take.

Please see attached grids for each plan’s benefits. C&F phasing out for new Medicare eligible effective 1/1/2020.
